Oslo – Rjukan
250 km
Kunstnerleden is a historic cultural route of approximately 250 kilometers that will extend from the Oslo Kunstforening, located in the city’s oldest building on Christiania Square, to the Norwegian Trekking Association’s first tourist cabin at Krokan by the Rjukan Waterfall. The walking route follows the same path taken by the early leisure travelers and Romantic artists who journeyed from the Norwegian capital Christiania, as well as from Europe and the wider world, during the 19th century.
The project was initiated in 2024 and is still ongoing. The entire route will be developed so that there is no need for tents, with accommodation available at each stage in the form of farms, DNT cabins, hostels, artist studios, private rooms, municipal buildings, Airbnbs, and more. Accommodation options and other relevant information along the route will be published in a dedicated guidebook.
All updates on the project are shared continuously on the Rjukan Solarpunk Academy's Instagram channel and website.
