Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast - Accommodation with Purpose

Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast, formerly Rjukan Gjestegård, is centrally located in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Rjukan in Telemark. It offers easy walking access to restaurants and shops while being idyllically situated by the Måna River with pleasant green areas around. This is the perfect starting point for exploring the destination's attractions, such as the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum at Vemork, the Hardangervidda National Park Center, and Gaustatoppen with the Gaustabanen funicular. It is 2 kilometers to the Krossobanen, which takes you up to Hardangervidda. In winter, you can take a ski bus up to one of Norway's largest ski centers – Gausta. Shops, restaurants, a cinema, a tourist office, and the Rjukanbadet swimming complex are all within walking distance.

Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast is owned and operated by Arena Kompetanse AS, a vocational and inclusion enterprise. We provide work and work training for individuals who need extra support in their employment.

Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast has a total of 46 beds, divided into 20 double rooms and one apartment with two bedrooms. Four apartments and four double rooms have private bathrooms. The other rooms have sinks but share showers and toilets in the hallway. All rooms include a refrigerator, bedding, and towels, but for the apartment, guests need to make their own beds. Breakfast is included in the price for all rooms except the apartment. Cooking facilities are not available. We have a dedicated TV lounge and a drying room for sports equipment.
