Gaustatoppen Turisthytte was built in 1893 and, at a height of 1,850 meters, has the most fantastic views from the top of the mountain.The cabin was built from natural rock from the summit itself and has since been extended and refurbished inside.The cabin has 11 beds for hire that must be booked in advance. The cabin serves light refreshments during the walking season.The cabin under the heavens is where mountain people meet!

In summer, from Midsummer Day until mid October, the lodge is open and offers basic food service of waffles, coffee, tea and drinks. The services also are offered during winter when Gaustabanen is open. 

Gaustatoppen Turisthytte has Eco - lighthouse sertificate.
