The Håvardsrud saeter farm has mainly been a dairy farm, but it was always necessary to diversify to be able to make a living there.
The high mountain pasture that their 10 milk cows graze on, gives the milk a wonderful taste and quality, so they can make tasty rjome (sour cream) and cheese. From the cream they make mountain butter and rjomegraut (sour cream porridge) that they can serve for you in the new hut.
How to get to Mydalen:
Mydalen in Dakkeset are in the borough of Tinn, 13 kilometres from Tinn Austbygd, and 45 kilometres from Rjukan. Follow the signs to Veggli. From Veggli the distance is 23 kilometres. The road to Håvardsrud Seterliv is marked with a large sign.
